These are the questions couples actually ask me. Here are my real answers. No sales talk.
What happens if you get sick on my wedding day?
I have never missed an event. I protect my calendar and I take care of myself. If the day ever came that I could not be there, you would hear it from me first, and we would work it out together. That day has never come.
Do you bring backup equipment?
Yes. I carry backups for the gear that matters most. If a speaker goes down, another one goes up. I will not tell you every cable has a twin, because that would not be true. What I will tell you is that I plan for problems so your night never feels them.
How do song requests work?
Your people can make requests. I welcome them. If a request fits your night and your list, I play it. If it does not fit, I handle it without killing the energy. Your must play list always comes first.
Can I give you a do not play list?
Absolutely. Give me your do not play list and those songs will not get played. Period. You will never have to worry about hearing the song you hate at your own wedding.
How much does a wedding DJ cost?
My base DJ service starts at $1,000. That covers your reception sound for up to five hours, cocktail hour included. From there you can add enhancements like uplighting and ceremony audio. My full pricing is on my pricing page. No hidden fees. No surprises.
What if the party runs long? Do you do overtime?
If the venue allows it and the energy is right, we keep going. Overtime is $300 per hour. We sort it out on the night. No stress.
How far in advance should I book?
As soon as you know your date. I am one person and I take a limited number of events each year, so prime Saturdays go first. If your date is open, we can lock it in right away.
What makes you different from the big DJ companies?
When you book me, you get me. Not a roster. Not whoever happens to be free that Saturday. The person you plan with is the person behind the booth on your night. I read the room in real time and I guide the energy all night. That is the whole product.
Do you handle ceremony audio?
Yes. Ceremony audio is a $495 add on. Clean sound for your vows. A microphone that actually works. Your ceremony music handled start to finish. I have done ceremonies everywhere from outdoor lighthouse grounds to ballrooms.
How early do you arrive to set up?
Early. I am set up and sound checked before anyone walks in. You will never see me running cables during cocktail hour.
Will you travel to my venue?
I am based in Port Huron and I travel all over southeastern Michigan. Macomb County, the Detroit area, wherever your venue is. Tell me where and we will work it out.
How do deposits and contracts work?
Your date is locked when your contract is signed and your deposit is paid. The balance is due before your event. Everything is in writing so we are both protected.
What kind of music do you play?
The music your people dance to. I specialize in high energy party crowds. Before your date, I learn your taste, your must plays, and your do not plays. On the night, I read the room and adjust in real time. It is not just about the music. It is about how the night feels.
Do you MC, or do you just play music?
Both. I make the announcements that matter and I keep your timeline moving. I am not a hype man shouting over your party all night. The night is about your people, not about me.
